Established in 1972, the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board (NPAIHB or the Board) is a non-profit tribal advisory organization serving the forty-three federally recognized tribes of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. Our mission is to eliminate health disparities and improve the quality of life of American Indians and Alaska Natives by supporting Northwest Tribes in their delivery of culturally appropriate, high quality healthcare.

NPAIHB Attends National Strategy for Suicide Prevention and Federal Action Plan Launch at The White House – The White House released a new National Strategy for Suicide Prevention, updating the federal approach to the issue for the first time in more than a decade and launching a federal action plan with more 200 steps that the Biden administration hopes to take over the next three years, emphasizing priorities like health equity. The new plan is one of several health care initiatives announced by the administration in the runup to the 2024 election, including announcing new funding.
