The Health News & Notes for January is themed “Holistic Health Systems.” Highlights include the reelection of Aaron Hines (Umatilla) as Chair, Rachel Edwards (Nez Perce) as Secretary, and Alison Boyd-Ball (Colville) as Treasurer. Upcoming events include the Tribal Public Health Emergency Preparedness Conference (May 4–8, 2026); and the THRIVE Conference (June 22–26, 2026). Further highlights include the Zero Suicide Initiative Coordinating Center (ZSICC) and guidance on suicide screening tools within a continuum of care; Tribal Community Health Provider Program (TCHPP) updates and open recruitment for Dental Health Aide (DHA), Behavioral Health Aide (BHA), and Community Health Aide (CHA) programs; Project updates share Portland Area CHAP Certification Board (PACCB) progress (21 providers certified to date and a 2025 IHS Director’s Award); Adolescent Health Project recaps for We R Native and Healthy Native Youth; and a NW Tribal Data Hub presentation at the APHA Annual Meeting. Additional applications are also open for NARCH Research Support Fellowship, Tribal Researchers’ Cancer Control Fellowship, and the Summer Research Training Institute.
