Event Description
Accepted fellows will attend a two-week summer training June 9-20, 2025, and a one-week follow-up training in the fall (dates TBD). Topics will include (not limited to):
▸ Cancer control study design
▸ Cancer epidemiology
▸ Cancer screening
▸ Cohort studies among American Indians
▸ Community-based chronic disease programs
▸ Focus groups
▸ Grant writing
▸ Cultural considerations in cancer epidemiology
▸ Implementing a Native comprehensive cancer prevention and control project
Fellows will also receive distance learning, peer and career mentorship and be connected to a network of experts in cancer control and prevention in Indian Country. Travel costs associated with attending the training will be covered.
