Dr. David Lewis, Assistant Professor Anthropology & Indigenous Studies at OSU.
Kalapuyans of the Central and Upper Willamette, David tells the story of the tribal histories of the southern valley from research conducted over the past 20 years. Much of his new book includes versions of the stories of tribal interactions with settlers, of losing land and resources and removal to the Grand Ronde Reservation 180 years ago. David G. Lewis, PhD, is a member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, a descendant of the Takelma, Chinook, Molalla, and Santiam peoples of western Oregon.
