Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort
Region 10 of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will conduct its annual Tribal Consultation for Tribes in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington on Thursday, May 12 and Friday, May 13, 2015 at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort, 15347 Suquamish Way NE, Suquamish, WA, 98392. These dates were chosen based on venue availability and feedback provided by many of you.
Day 1 (Thursday, May 12) - One-on-One Meetings: This short meeting is an opportunity for you to briefly share concerns and information specific to your tribe or tribal organization with federal officials from HHS operating divisions. It is not intended to be a formal consultation.
Day 2 (Friday, May 13) – Tribal Consultation: The agenda for Day 2 will include Opening and Tribal Blessing, Regional Welcome, Tribal Leader Introductions, Open Tribal Leader Comments, three afternoon Panel Presentations, and Closing Remarks.
- The following Panel Presentations addressing regional issues will take place:
- Health and Wellness – coordinated by HRSA Regional Administrator Sharon Turner (Sturner@hrsa.gov)
- Human and Family Services – coordinated by ACF Regional Administrator Cathy Adams-Bomar (adams-bomar@acf.hhs.gov)
- Prevention and Resilience – coordinated by SAMHSA Regional Administrator David Dickinson (dickinson@samhsa.hhs.gov)
Generation Indigenous Youth Gathering Events: HHS, the US Department of Agriculture and the White House will host the following Generation Indigenous days in Region 10. You should receive registration information on these events under separate cover from Stacey Ecoffey. Tribal leaders are not expected to attend this event.
- Saturday, May 14 – Seattle, WA (for youth from Idaho, Oregon, Washington)
- Thursday, May 26 – Anchorage, AK

Please respond to the survey by April 11, 2015. If you are not scheduling a one-on-one meeting, you do not need to attend on Day 1. There are limited slots for one-on-one meetings; once we finalize a schedule we will confirm the time and location for this meeting.
Step 2: Secure hotel accommodations at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort by Monday, April 11.

Travel from SeaTac Airport by taxi/shuttle/light rail to downtown Seattle, then ferry ride to Bainbridge Island. The Resort has a shuttle that picks-up at the ferry terminal (M-F 9am-12:30am; S/S 5am-12:30am) and will transport you the 7 miles north to the Resort.
