The Portland Area Dental Meeting (PADM) is an annual event hosted by the Northwest Tribal Dental Support Center (NTDSC) through the Indian Health Service (IHS). The PADM is a two and a half day event for our Portland Area dental providers (OR/ID/WA) and provides complimentary Continuing Dental Education (CDE), as well as travel funds to eligible clinics. The CDE topics are chosen by the results of the Portland Area Dental program annual needs assessment.

The Northwest Tribal Dental Support Center (NTDSC) is a project at the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board (NPAIHB), a tribal organization representing all 43 federally recognized tribes in the Portland Area (Washington, Oregon, and Idaho). Of the 43 federally recognized tribes in the Portland Area, 31 tribes have dental programs with one or more dental clinics, as well as three Urban dental programs and the Chemawa Indian Health Center. The grant funding for the NTDSC is through the Indian Health Service (IHS) Division of Oral Health. The NTDSC is one of nine Dental Support Centers.
The overall goals of the NTDSC are to provide training, quality improvement, and technical assistance to the 46 IHS/Tribal/Urban dental programs in the Portland Area, and to ensure that the services of the NTDSC result in measurable improvement in the oral health status of the AI/AN people served in the Portland Area.
