May 24, 2016 – May 26, 2016
The Public Health Division’s Health Security, Preparedness and Response (HSPR) program is offering scholarships that will cover lodging, mileage,
and meals not provided at the state rates for two upcoming conference/workshops in Oregon for partner organizations.
The first one is this year’s OR-Epi conference, 24-26 May at Bend, OR. ACDP sent out an earlier HAN message to save the date.
While staff are fine-tuning the agenda we wanted to provide scholarship information for your planning.
We are offering the following for tribes, LPHA, and our HPP Coalition partners:
• 1-scholarship per Tribe,
• 3-scholarships per LPHA: 1 for the Health Officer, 1 for the LPHA Administer, & 1 for other staff
• 2-scholarships per each of the seven HPP Coalitions
There will be additional information provided once the agenda is sent on how names attending will be collected and how the scholarships with be handled at the conference.
The second one is this year’s 2016 Preparedness Workshop, 5-7 April at Kah-Nee-Ta, OR. The Oregon Office of Emergency Management has sent out the agenda and registration, that information is provided below for your convenience. We are offering the following for tribes, LPHA, and our HPP Coalitions partners:
• 1-scholarship per Tribe,
• 2-scholarships per LPHA: 1 for the PHEP Coordinator & 1 for other staff
• 3-scholarships per each of the seven HPP Coalitions
HSPR Liaison’s that support your organization will be connecting with your organization in the near future to collect names for the scholarships.
We hope you are able to take advantage and look forward at seeing you at these statewide offerings.
Relating to preparedness, there will not be a separate 2016 ECHO Preparedness in the fall as in year’s past.
By coordinating preparedness tracks into OR-Epi and the Preparedness Workshop we hope to reduce travel burdens on your organization.
Funding of scholarships: CDC’s Public Health Preparedness Cooperative Agreement Budget Period 03 (end in June 2015) carryover funds are supporting both opportunities.
