No More Stolen People: Keep it Moving with Awareness, Empowerment, and Action
Please join us in this session to increase awareness and understanding about MMIP and the MMIW Movement. We will be guided in this conversation by Cynthia Goslin, Lestina Saul-Merdassi, and Theresa Sault-Brill. Topics of this session include the history of MMIW and the importance and meaning of the movement with a goal to better understand why AI/AN peoples go missing at disproportionate rates, the historical and present role of the federal government, and a conversation about the traumas associated with having a loved one who is missing. We will end the session with actions that we can each take at home to support AI/AN individuals and communities and focus on how youth can get involved in the movement and the vital role they play.
