June 2, 2022HIMSS OR Chapter Annual Conference A Call to Connect: Shaping Tomorrow's Healthcare Landscape
Greetings!
It's now a familiar refrain: over the last two years, so much has changed in healthcare. When we last met in person for the annual conference in 2019, our theme was on "embracing disruption." And we certainly did! Healthcare continues to evolve, as patient preferences, continued provider burnout, and crisis levels of mental health needs force us to adapt how we deliver care.
In just over a month, we'll once again gather together in person* for the 2022 HIMSS Oregon Chapter's Annual Conference bringing together senior leaders across healthcare to explore the next era in healthcare. We will discuss everything from the state of Health IT to lessons learned from the cloud and interoperability for both rural and large systems, including:
- State of the State in Healthcare IT: What's Ahead in the Endemic Era
- Navigating Pitfalls & Lessons Learned in Moving to the Cloud
- Beyond Survival Mode: Sustainable Strategies for Hybrid Care Delivery
- Is Interoperability Between Small & Large Providers the Next Game Changer?
- Addressing Health Equity through Innovations in Access to Care
- Eye on the Horizon: The Changing Health IT Career Landscape
You'll leave with actionable insights about how to adapt to - and help shape - the next era of healthcare. We look forward to seeing you!

We are thrilled to return to in-person events with our June Training Institute in sunny Palm Springs, California! Join us for Understanding ICWA or Positive Indian Parenting June 7-9, 2023.
Understanding ICWA
This three-day training provides participants with information about the basic legal requirements of the Indian Child Welfare Act of 1978 (ICWA) and the practice issues involved with ICWA’s implementation. A brief history of U.S. Indian policy as it relates to Indian children and families sets the stage for an examination of the specific provisions of ICWA and practice tips for both tribal and state social workers. Participants will also learn how to successfully integrate other federal and state policies with ICWA—such as the Adoption and Safe Families Act—and support developing tribal and state agreements and other systems changes. This training includes information about the recent Bureau of Indian Affairs ICWA regulations and guidelines.
Positive Indian Parenting
Our most popular training, Positive Indian Parenting (PIP) prepares tribal and non-tribal child welfare personnel to train American Indian and Alaska Native parents using a culturally specific approach. The materials presented during this training draw on the strengths of historic Indian child-rearing practices and blend traditional values with contemporary skills. Storytelling, cradleboards, harmony, lessons of nature, behavior management, and the use of praise are discussed.

The host hotel is Margaritaville Resort Palm Springs. Register by May 6, 2022, to take advantage of our discounted group rates.
