FDA COVID-19 Testing Recommendations Updated

If the materials in this recommendation are not available, FDA recommends use of a dry swab in saline to collect and transport samples for molecular RT-PCR SARS-CoV-2 assays. FDA believes that for saline, a sterile glass or plastic vial containing between 1mL and 3mL of phosphate buffered saline is appropriate. Specimens can be stored up to 72 hours at 4℃, or frozen for longer storage. All the products listed below do not include a swab.
