Established in 1972, the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board (NPAIHB or the Board) is a non-profit tribal advisory organization serving the forty-three federally recognized tribes of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. Honor World Suicide Prevention Month by taking a moment to care for yourself and your loved ones. Learn the signs of suicide, take a mindful walk, or send a text to brighten someone’s day. Your actions can make a difference 💙
We also encourage you to learn how to talk about suicide. Asking about it can be scary, but it can also save a life. If you’re concerned that someone in your life is thinking about suicide, ask them about it. Asking about suicide shows that you care and that this person is not alone. #weneedyouhere 💙
If you need help now, call the Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 or text "NATIVE" to 741741. If you are feeling alone, know that you are cared for and loved.
