Spirit Walking

by Marcy Angeles

We are never alone because our Ancestors are always here.

Our hearts are the drum we hear.

The Rivers they drank are our ponds of tears.

We Re-Create ourselves as we rise from our Ancestor’s fears.

In our silence we feel our pulse,

The Eager Current pushing us.

Oh Blue Birds come to my window

& I’ll pour you a sip of K’oh.

The Winds move the soil that covers the seeds.

The Seas lend their moisture to bring the waters they need.

Shells in the Desert are a Mystery.

What now is our Valley once was our Sea.

Our Mother shifts herself to avoid stagnancy.

Re-Earth the Rebirth; ReBirth our ReWorth.
