SAMHSA Tribal Technical Advisory Committee Meeting Feb 19-20

Welcome to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
This meeting is scheduled for February 19 & 20, 2008.
These dates were selected to get this Committee underway.
Our Committee meeting will be the first, followed by a host of other SAMHSA Advisory Committees, to meet in 2008.
In the meanwhile, we will identify a contractor to handle travel arrangements for this meeting.
IMPORTANT:  All travel/lodging arrangements must be handled through SAMHSA’s designated contractor in order to be valid for reimbursement.
Our contractor will contact you directly to make your travel arrangements.

For the first day, to be held at our host hotel, will focus on finalizing the Committee Charter.
There were some that had other charter samples to consider.
Please send those templates electronically so we can get a copy to everyone else before our February meeting.
As well, we are working on the first day agenda to include an update of SAMHSA’s Reauthorization legislation.

On our second day we will officially welcome you to our SAMHSA offices at:

1 Choke Cherry Road
Rockville, MD.

This day’s agenda will provide an introduction to SAMHSA Center and Program Directors who will provide insight into the work of their respective offices.
This two-day agenda is designed to provide an overview of our work so you can guide us in our service to American Indian and Alaska Native communities.
