About the Presenters
Robin Harwick, PhD, is highly motivated and passionate about bridging the gap between research and practice to improve the lives of children and families particularly those from underserved and/or marginalized populations. She has been a member of academic, governmental, and private research teams since 1995. She has also worked extensively in direct service of children and families as a parent educator, home visitor, and therapeutic foster parent. In these roles, she conducted developmental assessments, designed curricula, taught parenting classes, and served as an advocate for youth and families. Her research interests include the transition to adulthood, family systems, and substance use and fetal alcohol spectrum disorders. She is currently a Research Scientist at the University of Washington’s Alcohol and Drug Abuse Institute.
