Training and Outreach Coordination

Goals:

The Training and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for assessing the training and education needs of the 43 member Tribes of the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board. This position works to find requested training and educational opportunities for its Tribes. If needed trainings do not exist it is the responsibility of the Training and Outreach Coordinator to work with the appropriate states, government agencies and other organizations to provide those opportunities to Tribes.

This position also works closely with the Northwest Center for Public Health Practice to provide Hot Topic Sessions and culturally appropriate on-line trainings to our 43 member Tribes. The Training and Outreach Coordinator also assists with Emergency Preparedness activities, the NARCH Summer Institute and the EpiCenter Consortium Project.

Tribes Served:

Training and outreach activities serve the 43 federally recognized tribes in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

Funding:

Funding for training and outreach activities is provided through the Northwest Center for Public Health Practice, the EpiCenter Consortium Project, and the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board’s EpiCenter.
