Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board: Indian Leadership for Indian Health

History & Goals

The NTDSC is currently in its second five-year grant cycle. The overall goal of the NTDSC is to improve the oral health of American Indian and Alaska Native people in the Pacific Northwest. To meet this goal, six objectives and corresponding activities were carefully selected.  These objectives and activities focus on providing support to all 33 tribal and Indian Health Service dental programs in the Portland Area, encouraging each program to employ public health principles in the administration of their clinical and community dental programs. The chosen objectives and activities will positively impact progress towards meeting or exceeding the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) objectives and the Healthy People 2010 oral health objectives.
